Apartment roof and window repair and replacement

NHCC carried out an investigate and repair project where roof issues were causing water ingress and dozens of windows were damaged.

Following a claim, NHCC were appointed by the original developer to investigate and repair a number of roof issues causing water ingress, and dozens of damaged windows across a large apartment block development in Bedfordshire.

NHCC carried out the roof repairs and window replacements – all repair works undertaken were completed to a high standard and met the agreed deadline. This not only satisfied the original developer, but also the managing agent of the apartment blocks and the homeowners.

The investigate and repair works involved:

    • Specialist roof repairs such as lead replacement
    • Secret gutter repairs
    • Bay window roof replacement
    • Renewal of stepped cavity trays in several locations
    • Brick laying
    • Full window replacement and installation in a number of apartments
    • Internal decorations where damage had occurred

Following completion of the investigate and repair project the developer had this to say:

“We are more than happy with NHCC’s performance. In particular, on the larger schemes, where the whole project was dealt with by one point of contact”

NHCC encountered numerous challenges during this project. During the investigate and repair works other defects were discovered that affected the repair programme and required additional remedial action. This meant responsive reporting to the client and some changes in the programme of works to ensure minimum downtime and enabling deadlines to be met.

Also, the repair locations were sporadic across the development meaning individual scaffolding sections were designed for each location.

The project was supported by Nationserv Ltd, Silent View Windows and Elliot Hire.
